Day 1: Nairobi- Lake Nakuru Depart Nairobi in the morning for to lake Nakuru National Park known as the birds paradise. Brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point drive past Mount Longonot and lake Elementaita arrive intime for game drive with your picnic lunches. Dinner and overnight at Nakuru Hotel.
Day 2: Nakuru- Bogoria- Baringo After breakfast drive to Lake Bogoria. This place is blessed to have some unique natures rarely seen. Welcome to the thermal springs knowed as hot springs & Geysers, thousands of flamingoes, different species of fowls . Most visitor do boil eggs as experiments whenever they visit this place. Listen to the voices of the birds under acacia trees and hear baboons coughing for your food. Proceed to lake Baringo for boat ride, dinner and overnight in a budget hotel/ camp.
Day 3: Lake Baringo-Mt. Elgon After breakfast, Visit Njemps traditional village or local snake farms is optional. Depart for a journey to Mount Elgon for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4:Mt. Elgon After Breakfast do a game drive or game walk with rangers to explore the un spoilt nature to see animals including the rare colobus monkeys and different species of birds. Visit the Making`eny and Kitum caves which is about 200 meters deep ( be aware of elephants) you easily meet elephants in the caves when they go to the saltlick. Mt. Elgon is the 4th highest mountain in East Africa after Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya and the Rwenzories. The park shares its border with the neighboring country Uganda dinner and overnight at a budget hotel.
Day 5: Mt. Elgon-Kakamega Forest After breakfast drive past Turgen hills through Kerio valley and the Sirikwa plateau to the Kakamega forest Reserve which is a superb virgin tropical forest situated in the heart of intensively cultivated agricultural land. It’s a a home to huge variety of birds & animals. some birds visits this forest from as far as South Africa and Congo as they has not been sported anywhere in east Africa. Some parts of the forest are very dense and for a greater appreciation for the flora and fauna a guide with an extensive knowledge of the trees and birds accompany clients around. Binoculars and Wet-weather gear are essential as it usually rains every evening especially in April and May. Dinner and overnight at Isecheno bandas.
Day 6: Kakamega- Kisumu
Depart for Kisumu the 2nd largest city in Kenya at the shore of lake Victoria. Visit the Kisumu museum which has a lot of collections from the locals including animals,birds, snakes and agricultural things found around. Outside the Museum there is a Luo traditional home displaying how thatched houses are arranged in this particular Kenyan tribe fully proud of their traditions/culture even the civilized ones around the world. visit the hippo point by boat for a chance to see the hippos and birds, meet the fishermen at the shore selling their catch. Dinner and overnight in Kisumu hotel.
Day 7: Kisumu- Rusinga Island
After breakfast drive via Sondu for a brief stop at Odino falls where a new power plant construction is going on. You are treated with another stop at the banana country of Kissii to have a taste of sweet bananas and a stop at the soap stone factory to see how locals harvest the source of the soap stone you buy in Nairobi shops. Lake Victoria is the second larges fresh water lake in the world; it forms a water border of three East African countries Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania. Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Rusinga Island.
Day 8: Rusinga Island
Whole day is spent exploring Rusinga including visiting the Tom Mboya moseleum and the museum where the remains of the first man were found by Dr. Leaky. For those who love fishing can join fishermen for fishing expedition. Easy to see many birds at the shore walking around places where locals stay. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day 9: Rusinga-Ruma National Park-Awendo After breakfast, leave Rusinga with parked lunches for a game drive in Ruma national Park. Rarely visited nature give you chance to see fierce Roan antelope, an animal which ocationaly defend their lives by attacking back predators when attacked by them. You can spotted many other game. Proceed to Awendo through Sugarcane farm land, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10:Awendo- Masai mara
Leave Awendo in the morning via Kilgoris into Masai Mara from the western side for a game drive in search of Lions, Elephants, Cheetah, Crocodiles, etc. Masai Mara is renowned for its abundant wildlife all year around and annual migration of wildebeests and zebras in July/August, picnic lunch at the Mara River. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 11: Masai Mara
Spend a full day in the game reserve enjoying the wonders of nature with lunch at the popular hippo pools. Return to the camp for dinner and night. Those who want can visit Masai village at after the game drives ( cost extra $20)
Day 12: Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast depart to Nairobi stopping sporadically for the breathtaking panoramic views of the rift valley and adjacent landforms. Lunch enroute. The tour ends in Nairobi late in the afternoon.
